PHARR-Tomasa Cordova Mendoza, 80 went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 22, 2025 in McAllen. Born on October 26, 1945 in Mexico, Tomasa lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering faith that touched the lives of everyone around her.
Tomasa always cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, always placing their happiness and well-being above all else. She was a firm believer in the power of prayer. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she carried it with grace, strength, and unwavering devotion. Tomasa had a gift for making a house feel like a home. She loved to cook, and no one ever left her kitchen hungry. Her famous homemade tortillas were loved by all soft, warm, and made with the kind of love only she could give. If you walked into her home, you were greeted not just with food, but with open arms, an open heart, and the feeling that you belonged.
Tomasa loved to watch her novelas and enjoyed playing bingo, sharing laughter and good company with friends and family. And whenever she could, she indulged in her favorite pastime, visiting the "maquinitas" where the lights, sounds, and thrill of the game filled her with pure happiness.
Tomasa was preceded in death by her husband, Elijio B. Mendoza, Sr.; daughter Concepcion (Ruben) Reyes; daughter Antonia C. Latigo; son Carlos Mendoza, Sr.; parents, Reyes and Maria Cordova; brother Reyes (Maria) Cordova; brother Joaquin Cordova; brother Esteban Cordova and sister Maria Cordova.
She is survived by her loving children: Feliciana C. Mendoza, Elijio (Isidra) Mendoza Jr., Jose Angel (Eva) Mendoza, Reyes (Ana) Mendoza, and Yadira (Rey) Cantu. Tomasa is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and siblings, San Juana (Guadalupe) Garcia, Maria (Pedro) Avalos, Guadalupe (Alfredo) Garcia, and brother Rey (Dalia) Cordova. The love she shared with her family will forever be cherished and remembered.
