San Juanita Gamez

Elsa – San Juanita “Janie” Gamez, 64, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Janie was born June 2, 1956 to Pablo and Otila Gorostiza in Edcouch, TX. Janie worked many years as a funeral attendant at Cardoza Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband, Rolando Gamez, Sr.; daughters, Sandra Sandoval, Mary Lou Segura (Ricardo A. Moreno, Sr.), Veronica Lee Gamez (Juan Garcia, Jr.), Gina (Jaime) Banegas; sons, Rolando (Erika Vallejo) Gamez, Jr., Orlando Gamez; 25 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ofelia M. Rodriguez (†Fidel Rodriguez), Soila G. (†Luis) Segura; and brother, Rafael (†Eloisa T.) Gomez.

Viewing will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m.

Cremation will follow at a later date.

Funeral arrangement are under the care of Cardoza Funeral Home.
