LA VILLA - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruben Felix, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 75.
Ruben was born on June 28, 1950, and spent his life as a hardworking migrant worker, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to his family and community. Ruben's love for his family was evident in every gathering, where his infectious spirit brought joy and warmth to those around him. His passion for barbecuing often made family events unforgettable, as he delighted in sharing meals and laughter with loved ones.
A man of simple pleasures, Ruben enjoyed the camaraderie of friends at the adult daycare where he loved to play bingo. He also had a special fondness for music, particularly corridos, which echoed the stories and traditions of his heritage. Ruben had a particular passion for old Chevrolet cars, often reminiscing about the classic models that captured his heart.
Ruben Felix will be remembered as a compassionate man with a great sense of humor and a love of life. He cherished enjoying cold beers with friends and surrounding himself with the people he loved. His legacy will continue through his family and the numerous lives he touched throughout his journey.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Teresa Felix and siblings Pilar Felix and Elida Suarez.
Left to cherish Ruben's memory are his beloved daughters; Teresa (Eloy) Mata, Rubycela (Samuel) Cantu, Rosalinda (Juan) Campos, Patricia Castillo, Rebecca Castillo, Dalia Felix, Mary Lou Felix and Esther Felix, sons; Jose Fidencio Felix, Ruben Felix, Jr., Felix Felix, Jesus Felix and Rolando Castillo. Ruben is also survived by numerous grand children, great grand children and great great grandchildren.
Ruben will also be missed by his siblings; Pedro Felix, Jr., Reynaldo Felix, Raul Felix, Albina Felix, Yolanda Felix, Maria E. Garza, and Esmeralda Perez.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Villa. Interment will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
Serving as Pallbearers are Michael Mata, Gilbert Ibarra, Samuel Cantu, Josh Felix, Raul Felix and Ruben Felix, Jr.
In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in the love and memories we hold close, knowing that Ruben's spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch, Texas 78538.
