Rosario "Cowboy Chayo" Cordova, Sr.

PHARR - Rosario "Cowboy Chayo" 55, entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025 in Mcallen. Chayo was born on October 21, 1969 in Mcallen.

A devoted father to Asha Roque and Rosario Cordova, Jr. Chayo took great joy in spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, Juan Roque, Jr., Ethan Roque, and Roxanne Roque. His love for them was evident in every moment they shared, whether they were fishing, enjoying barbecues, or simply laughing together. He had a passion for working on muscle cars, a hobby that showcased his vibrant spirit and hands-on approach to life.

Rosario dedicated many years of his life to serving his community as a maintenance worker for the City of San Juan and a custodian for Pan American, where he earned respect and appreciation from those he worked alongside. His gentle nature and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Asha (Juan) Roque and son Rosario Cordova, Jr. grandchildren Juan Roque, Jr., Ethan Roque, and Roxanne Roque, cousins Armando "Mando" Cordova, Juan Cordova and Elijio Mendoza Jr. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love and resilience. Chayo is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at De Leon Funeral Home located on 702 E. Expressway 83 Pharr, Texas 78577. As per Chayo's wishes, cremation will follow at a later date.

Rosario Cordova will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
