Roel Cardoza

MERCEDES - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roel Cardoza on October 22, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on March 22, 1975, Roel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend.

Roel was a man of deep faith and a steadfast believer in the goodness of humanity. He dedicated much of his life to serving his community, he was a dedicated hard working employee for the Food Bank RGV for 13 years, where his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. A passionate truck driver, Roel approached every journey with the same enthusiasm he had for life-always eager to explore new horizons.Known for his love of food, particularly crab legs, Roel cherished every opportunity to try different cuisines. He enjoyed shopping trips with his beloved wife, where they created lasting memories together. Roel was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast, relishing the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson. His love for dogs shone through in his dedication to rescuing them, providing a warm and loving home to animals in need.

Roel Cardoza will be remembered not only for his larger-than-life personality but also for the deep love he shared with family and friends. His legacy of faith, compassion, and joy will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Roel is preceded in death by his Parents Joel and Eduarda Cardoza, Sr.

Roel is survived by his loving wife, Imelda Cardoza; his children, Royce (Paola) Cardoza, Stacie (Arturo) Garza, Tracie (Bruno) Saenz, and Kristopher Cardoza; and his beloved grandchildren, Ezra Garza, Araleah Garza, and Zolynn Saenz.

He is also survived by his siblings, Rosa (Arturo) Salinas, Robert (Ramona) Cardoza, Celia (Jimmy) Olivarez, Joel (Delma) Cardoza, Ramiro Cardoza, Ester (Lewis) Wade, Essy (Esmeralda) Cardoza, and Ruth (Manuel) Lopez.

Also left to cherish his memory is his goddaughter, Kamila (B) Maldonado, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.

Roel's spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Calvary Christian Center located on 3616 Business Hwy 83 E, Weslaco, TX 78596. Funeral Service will be October 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Christian Center in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Sacred Park in Mercedes.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch, Texas 78538.
