LA VILLA – Petra Reyes, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Solara Hospital in Harlingen. She was born April 29, 1939 to Manuel & Manuela Suarez in La Villa.
Petra is survived by her husband, Jose Angel Reyes; sons, Pedro Reyes, Juan G. (Alicia) Reyes, Agustin I. Reyes, Vicente F. Reyes, and Mario J. Reyes; daughters, Leticia Reyes, Virginia Reyes, Maria Lucia (Luis) Castañeda, and Maria De Los Angeles (Gilberto) Castañeda. Also surviving her are 30 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Francisco Suarez and Manuel Suarez, Jr.; and sisters, Guadalupe Portillo, Juana Rivas, and Cruz Suarez. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jose Angel Reyes, Jr.; daughters, Francisca Reyes, and Belia Reyes; brothers, Apolinar Suarez, and Jose Roel Suarez; and sister, Yolanda Rivas.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
