Oscar Anzaldua

January 26, 1978 — January 11, 2026

MONTE ALTO - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Oscar Anzaldua, who entered eternal rest on January 11, 2026, just days shy of his 48th birthday. Born on January 26, 1978, Oscar was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished son, brother, and friend. His warm spirit and caring nature touched the lives of many, especially those closest to him.

Oscar was a passionate football fan with unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. Sundays were sacred to him-filled with football, laughter, and time spent with family and friends. He took great pride in gathering loved ones around the grill, preparing barbecue with generosity and joy, always making sure there was plenty to share. Beyond these moments, Oscar was a true caregiver and provider who dedicated his life to helping others, earning the respect, gratitude, and love of all those he served.

Family was at the heart of everything Oscar did. He treasured time spent with his loved ones and thrived on creating memories that will forever live on in their hearts. His laughter, kindness, and steadfast support will be profoundly missed.

Oscar was preceded in death by his father, Jose Francisco Anzaldua, and his sisters, Martha Anzaldua and Susie Anzaldua.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Julia Montalvo, and his beloved son, Alexander Rene Anzaldua. He is also survived by his mother, Maria Anzaldua; and his siblings Jenoveva (Jaime) Gorotiza, Jose Luis (Becky) Anzaldua, Olivia (Armando) Lopez, Amanda (Eduardo) Martinez, Norma (Gerardo) Perez, Francisco (Cecilia) Anzaldua, Ricardo (Maria) Anzaldua, Ruben Anzaldua, and Arnfulfo Anzaldua.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Friday, January 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited both evenings at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Monte Alto. Interment will follow at Valle de Paz Cemetery in Hargill.

In this time of sorrow, may we remember the love, warmth, and generosity that Oscar brought into our lives and carry his memory with us always.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and the staff of Serenity Funeral Chapels, located at 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave., Edcouch, Texas 78538.
