ELSA - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michelle Ruiz, who left this world on October 7, 2025, at the age of 46. Born on May 4, 1979, in Weslaco, Texas, Michelle spent her life in Edcouch, Texas, where she embraced her role as a devoted caregiver and a beloved family member.

Michelle was known for her infectious sense of humor and her ability to bring joy to everyone around her. She had a rare gift for making people laugh and was often the life of the party. Her warmth and spirit filled the rooms she entered, and her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was immeasurable. Michelle was also an enthusiastic purse collector, a passion that reflected her vibrant personality.

Michelle was preceded in death by her mother Norma Linda Garcia.

Left to cherish her memory are her father, Oscar Rivera; her loving husband, Rigoberto Ruiz; and her children: Rigoberto (Estephanie) Ruiz Jr., Ezequiel J. Ruiz, Destiny Richelle Ruiz, and Mikayla Raquel Ruiz, beloved grandchildren: Milca, Eden, Joseph, Matthew, Emma, Cesar, Hailey, Giovanni, and Baby Ruiz on the way.She is also survived by her siblings: Andres (Brittney) Espericueta, Elivaro (Gabrielle) Garcia, and Marivel Rivera.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, October 13, 2025 and Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM on both nights at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Lyford.

Michelle's warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the cherished memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
