EDCOUCH – Mercedes Martinez, 73, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. She was born July 10, 1944 to Nestor & Maria Dolores Martinez in Edcouch.

Mercedes is survived by her brothers, Manuel (Renee) Martinez, Mario (Rebecca) Martinez, and Adalberto Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Cijifredo Martinez.

Viewing will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will continue Monday, June 25, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
