Weslaco- Maria Del Rosario Garcia, 70, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at her residence in Weslaco. She was born December 27, 1945 to Nasario & Maria Echavarria in Mexico.
Maria is survived by her husband, Heriberto Garcia; sons, Marco Antonio Garcia, Jorge Luis Garcia, Hector Gerardo Garcia, Heriberto Garcia, Jr., Nasario Garcia, Juan Francisco Garcia and Ramiro Garcia; daughters, San Juana Chavez, Mari Cruz Quintero, Alicia Covarrubias, Rosa A. Martinez and Veronica Garcia. Also surviving her are 33 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jesus Echavarria; sisters, Marta Muñoz, Dolores Chavez and Santos Alvarez. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Viewing will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Monday, April 18, 2106 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
