HARGILL - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Manuela Lopez, 80, who departed this world on August 8, 2025. Manuela was born on October 3, 1944 in Elsa, Texas. A beloved sister, cousin, and friend, Manuela was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many with her warmth, humor, and unwavering care.Manuela devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, especially to her cherished husband, whom she loved dearly until his last days. Known for her playful sense of humor, she brightened the lives of those around her, always quick with a joke or a hearty laugh. She had a special gift for caring for her loved ones, serving as a caregiver to her parents for many years, demonstrating her deep compassion and commitment to family. A talented cook, Manuela found joy in preparing meals for others, especially her brothers gathering friends and family around her table, where love was the main ingredient. In her free time, she immersed herself in her passions, from quilting beautiful pieces that told stories of love and warmth, to tending to her garden, where she nurtured both plants and friendships alike. Her love for animals was evident in the gentle way she cared for them, sharing her home with furry companions who brought her even more joy. A devoted member of her church community, Manuela found solace and strength in her faith, where she often expressed her love for music through singing. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life remained unwavering until the very end, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.
Manuela is preceded in death by her loving husband Alfonso Lopez, her parents Manuel Anzaldua and Trinidad Roman Anzaldua. Manuela is also preceded in death by her brother Pablo Anzaldua.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers Oscar Anzaldua (Blanca H. +) and Hector Anzaldua. Family and friends will gather on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz in Hargill.
Having the distinguish honor of serving as pallbearers are Rolando Anzaldua, Daniel Salazar, Jaime Anzaldua, Rayburn Garcia, Gabriel Gutierrez, and Kevin Cruz
Manuela's legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch, Texas 78538.
