Juan Enrique Olvera, affectionately known as “Kike,” was born on April 28, 1970, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, to parents Enrique and Graciela Olvera. Raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Juan graduated from Donna High School in 1990. As the eldest of six siblings, he embodied the phrase “my brother’s keeper,” providing unwavering financial and emotional support to his brothers and sisters, sharing his wisdom and guidance throughout his life.
Juan met his wife, Olga Salinas, in the Rio Grande Valley, and they shared 22 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where they built a loving home with their two children, Edgar and Yannely. Juan was a genuine, honest, humble, and selfless man, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was known for his hardworking nature and beautiful spirit.
A devout reader of the Bible, Juan was a man of strong character who consistently did what was right. He loved grilling, inviting family and friends over, and entertaining them with his humorous personality. Juan spent much of his time outside, working on his dump truck or at his cherished farm. His weekends were often filled with tending to his cattle, fertilizing the land, and building alongside his son, Edgar.
Despite facing hardships, Juan remained deeply appreciative of life's blessings. He often expressed gratitude for the fruits of his labor, yet he understood that material possessions were not the true essence of life. Juan was a blessing to many, a God-fearing, simple family man with a rich heart.
Juan Enrique Olvera will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. His legacy of love, kindness, and hard work will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Juan is survived by his loving wife, Olga Salinas; his son, Edgar Olvera; his daughter, Yannely Olvera; his mother, Graciela Olvera; his siblings, Jose Olvera, Jorge Olvera, Aracely Olvera, Emma Olvera, and Nancy Olvera; and his nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Enrique Olvera.
