Edinburg- Jose Maria Vela, 74, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. He was born August 17, 1941 to Laureano & Hermelinda Vela in Cadereyta Jiménez, N.L., MX.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria C. Vela; sons, Marcos Vela, Noe Vela, Jose M. Vela, Gustavo Peña; daughters, Ana Vela, Abigail Vela and Miriam N. Vela. He is also survived by brothers, Everardo Vela and Roberto Vela; sisters, Margarita Aguirre, Aurora Peña, Magdalena Vela, Guadalupe Vela and Leticia Garza; 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Amalia Vela; brothers, Daniel Vela and Angel Mario Vela.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
