LA VILLA- Joel Cardoza, Jr., age 63, passed away peacefully at his home on January 31, 2026.
Joel was born on April 30, 1963 in Weslaco, Texas to Joel and Eduarda Cardoza and was a man known for his strong work ethic, big heart, and deep love for his family. For 35 years, he dedicated himself to his career as a truck driver, taking pride in his work and providing faithfully for those he loved.
Outside of work, Joel found joy in the simple things. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team. He especially loved barbecuing and cooking out for his family, often firing up the grill every weekend when he could. Those gathering filled with laughter, good food, and togetherness are memories that will forever be held close by those who loved him.
Joel is preceded in death by his parents Joel and Eduarda Cardoza, Sr. and brother Roel Cardoza (Imelda)
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years Delma Cardoza, beloved sons Joel Cardoza, lll and Edward Jeremy (Priscilla) Cardoza, and granddaughter Nailani Anahi Cardoza.
Joel is also survived by his siblings Rosa Salinas (Arturo), Celia Olivarez (Jimmy), Robert Cardoza (Ramona), Isaiah Cardoza (Esmeralda), Ramiro Cardoza (Maria), Ruth Lopez (Manuel), and Ester Wade (Jose Luis).
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 2:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
Joel will be remembered as a dedicated father, a loving husband, and a man whose presence brought comfort and joy to his family. His legacy lives on through the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
