Hilda Salinas

WESLACO - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Salinas, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who entered eternal rest on September 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Hilda was born on December 18, 1940, in Monterrey, Mexico. Hilda resided in Weslaco, Texas where she spent her life nurturing her family and filling their hearts with love.Hilda was a beautiful soul, known for her humility and kindness. Her home was a sanctuary, filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aromas of her delicious cooking. She had a special talent for making meals that brought people together, particularly her beloved frijoles and carne guisada, alongside her famous rice. As a devoted housewife, she dedicated herself to caring for her husband Eloy Salinas and their children, instilling in them the values of love, compassion, and community.

Hilda is preceded in death by her parents Luis Martinez and Maria De Jesus Martinez. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Mayella Fonseca.Hilda is survived by her loving husband Eloy Salinas, cherished daughter Diana (Ricardo) Guajardo. Also left to cherish Hilda's memory are her adoring grandchildren Delilah Fonseca, Milleena Fonseca, Gabriel Fonseca, Jonalhy Fonseca and Julian Castillo and great granddaughter Sofia Mae Turner.Family and friends are invited to honor and pay their respects to a remarkable woman on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch.

A funeral mass will be held on September 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Hilda's kindness, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished her. May she rest in eternal peace.
