EDCOUCH - Gilberta "Berta" Coronado Rendon went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 29, 2025. Born in Edinburg, Texas, on December 28, 1945, Gilberta lived the great majority of her life in Edcouch. As a youth, Gilberta traveled around the state with her parents David and Margarita "Welita" L. Coronado and her eleven brothers and sisters, as hard working farm workers. After losing her father at the age of seventeen, Gilberta worked hard alongside her brothers and sisters to provide for the family. Gilberta enjoyed spending time with family & friends, cooking for family & friends, and teaching her son's how to earn a dollar in Michigan as migrantworkers to do seasonal work. She single mothered like a champion. She loved and cherished them all with all of her might. Gilberta served her life as the Mother that GOD called her to be....... that was her occupation and she did it effortlessly & without complaints as a good and faithful servant. It was a Labor of Love. The fruits of Gilberta's life not only have come in her lifetime, but will continue with her in eternity. Gilberta was a dedicated daughter, devoted wife, and caring mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother & sister, but most importantly she was an extraordinary human being. Gilberta enjoyed life and loving her family as she put many smiles on faces. Her silly humor impacted many. Even though it is a time of mourning, it is also a time to celebrate the life of a great woman who gave so much to many. Gilberta is survived by her sons Ruben Rendon, Rogelio Rendon, David Rendon (the baby); daughter Rachel Rendon Coronado. She is also survived by her brothers, Jose and Refugio Coronado; sisters Juana Perez, Rosa Arredondo and Lupe Moreno, a plethora of beautiful grandchildren & great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sons Ramiro Rendon, Felipe Rendon, III; daughter Maria Del Rosario Rendon; parents David and Margarita Coronado; brothers Ramon Coronado; David Coronado, Juan Coronado; sisters Cecilia Diaz, Maria Concepcion Reynero, and Maria de Jesus Alegria. You will live in our hearts, minds, and souls forever. Journey well Mom. We love you Mamacita. Te queremos mucho Ama/Mami.
