Edcouch- German Cardenas, Sr., 76, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. He was born December 20, 1939 to Juan & Florentina Cardenas in Beeville, TX.
German is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jose, Juan, Gilberto; sisters, Esequia Contreras and Lina Aleman. He is survived by his wife, Amelia G. Cardenas; sons, German, Jr., Homero, Eduardo, Juan (Priscilla Cerda) Cardenas; daughters, Rosa (Alfredo Lara) Cardenas, Alma (Marcos) Flores, Linda Cardenas, and Melissa Cardenas. He is also survived by his brothers, Francisco Cardenas, Silverio Cardenas; sisters, Magdalena Cardenas, Aurora Gomez, 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Friday, December 25, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch. Cardoza Funeral Home in Edcouch is in charge of funeral arrangements.
