He was born November 6, 1960 to Genovevo and Blanca Rivera in Dimmit, TX. Rene is survived by his wife, Sandra Alafa Rivera; daughter, Melissa Rivera, brother, Orlando Rivera; nephew, Joshua Rivera; and nieces, Karina Rivera and Karyssa Rivera. He is preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary both days at 7:00 p.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel in Edcouch. Viewing will continue Monday, November 12, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
