LA VILLA – Florentina Gonzales, 80, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Valley Grande Manor in Weslaco. She was born October 16, 1936 to Eluterio & Cristina Hernandez.
Florentina is survived by her sons, Francisco Gonzales, III, Isreal (Sue) Gonzales, Nahum (+Alicia) Gonzales, Apolonio (Heriberta) Gonzales; daughters, Moramia (+Alejandro) Macias, Margot (Jose R.) Perez, Maide (Juan R.) De la Rosa, Anabell Gonzales, and Jessebella (Ernesto) De la Garza; 32 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are brothers, Pablo H. (Berta) Hernandez, Guadalupe (Olga) Hernandez, Cruz (Manuela) Hernandez, Daniel (Elizabeth) Hernandez, Victor Hernandez, Juan (Gracie) Hernandez, and Leandro Hernandez; sisters, Emilia (Felipe) Luna, Elena (Febroñio) Cortez, San Juana (+Ramon) Rodriguez, Viviana (+Juan) Mendoza, Maria Rosa (Jose) Carranza, and Leticia Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresita Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
