Carmen Salinas
November 20, 1920 — March 16, 2016
Elsa- Carmen G. Salinas, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in McAllen. She was born November 20, 1920 to Felix & Juanita Gutierrez in Fowlerton, TX.
Carmen is survived by her sons, Tomas (Dolores) Garza, Gilberto (Elizabeth) Salinas, Eddie (Violet) Salinas; daughter, Alma (David) Tamez; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eulalio (Lalo) Salinas; parents; brothers, Alfredo Gutierrez, Ismael Gutierrez; and sister, Felicidad Cordova.
Carmen was always a hard-working woman. Worked with several packing sheds in the area and also devoted 13 years of her life working with Elsa I.S.D. as a cafeteria worker. Carmen was always strong in her faith and read her bible on a daily basis. She was loved by all her family and close friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Viewing will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Monday, March 21, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
