Monte Alto- Blas G. Rodriguez, 87, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his residence in Monte Alto. He was born February 3, 1929 to Cristoval & Maria Eduarda Rodriguez in San Benito.
Blas is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Rodriguez; daughter, Maria Elva (Carlos) Garate; grandchildren, Donny (Jessica) Gárate, Lee (Amanda) Gárate, Sandra (Adan Maldonado) Gárate, Carlos (Meuy) Gárate, Jr., Rafael (Norma) Gárate; and five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Luis Rodriguez and Andres Rodriguez; sister, Juana Rodriguez; and great great-grandchild, Jaelyn Ava Cabrera-Gárate.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
