La Villa-Armando Rodriguez, born on July 13, 1965, in Weslaco, passed away on October 20, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas.
Armando will be remembered as a man with a beautiful soul, a gentle spirit, and a heart filled with love. He was caring, friendly, warmhearted, and easygoing, with a peaceful presence that made others feel comfortable, welcomed, and loved. He was easy to talk to, quick to share a smile, and made room in his heart for others. Kind and gentle, he never needed to be the center of attention to make a difference in the lives of those around him. He had faith in God and a deep devotion to Blessed Mother Mary, and that quiet faith was reflected in the way he lived and loved.
He loved people, and people loved him in return. Armando treasured family, friendship, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. He found happiness in ordinary moments—sharing a meal, enjoying music, or sitting in conversation with those he cared about. He had a way of bringing peace into a room, warmth into a conversation, and love into the hearts of those around him.
Armando enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and barbecuing, often with his favorite Natural Light beer close at hand. He loved listening to music, dancing, gambling, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved food, and mole held a special place among his favorites. These were the moments that brought him joy and that now leave lasting memories for those who knew him best.
One of Armando’s greatest joys was the special connection with his nieces and nephews and loved them dearly. His love extended naturally and generously, and his presence made family gatherings brighter, warmer, and more complete.
He is survived by his daughters, Erica Rodriguez (Salome), Cecilia Rodriguez, and Laura Rodriguez (Michael); by his sons, AJ Rodriguez Jr (Elizabeth), and Armando Rodriguez Jr (Brooke); by his sisters, Regina Rodriguez, Rosa Gutierrez (Roy), Elida Rodriguez (Robert), Herminia Granado (Mike), Irene Rodriguez, Olga Villarreal (Eloy), and Norma Rodriguez; and by his brother, Jesus Rodriguez. He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love, gratitude, and the comfort of having been deeply loved by him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Rodriguez; his mother, Isabel Rodriguez; his brother, Ruben Rodriguez; his sister, Melinda Arias Roman, and Sylvia Rodriguez; and his grandmother, Herminia Tamez. Their memories remained part of his life, and now he is reunited with them in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Armando's life on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Villa, TX. Interment will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes, TX.
Armando Rodriguez will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His gentle heart, his warmth, his faith, and the joy he found in family, friendship, and life’s simple blessings will remain with all who knew and loved him.
Funeral arrangements are under the compassionate care and direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and the staff of Serenity Funeral Chapels, located at 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave., Edcouch, Texas 78538.
