Adela Davila

EDCOUCH-With heavy hearts and deep respect, we share the passing of Adela Davila, who departed this life on August 9, 2026, in Edcouch, Texas, at the age of 64. Born on April 2, 1962, Adela’s life was marked by quiet strength, resilience, and a deep love for her family.

Adela was the cherished daughter of Alejandro Davila and Dominga Valdez Davila, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her brother, Benito Davila. In their memory, Adela carried forward the values and warmth instilled in her from an early age, shaping her into the courageous and devoted mother, sister, and friend known to those around her.

She is survived by her loving children: David Davila, Johnny Davila, Tiffany Moreno and Mary Ramirez. As a single mother, Adela’s devotion to her children was unwavering. She did it all on her own, ensuring her family always felt loved, supported, and cared for. Her strength, though understated, was evident in the way she faced every challenge always with a solution at hand, always placing her loved ones first.

Adela’s siblings Facundo Valdez, Jose Davila, Jesus Vasquez, Jr., and Raquel Vasquez mourn her loss deeply, cherishing many years of family togetherness, support, and shared memories. Adela is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Dillan Davila, Desiree Davila, David Davila, Jr, Haven Davila, Siana Davila and Jayden Garza along with numerous nieces and nephews.

To those who knew her best, Adela’s quiet demeanor belied a vibrant and tender-hearted spirit. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: playing Tetris, working through puzzles and crosswords nearly every day, and indulging in scratch-off tickets with a playful hopefulness. She filled her family’s days with laughter singing along in the car, embracing her silly side to bring smiles to her loved ones’ faces. Though she sometimes described herself as a “scaredy cat,” her family knew her courage was boundless, especially when it came to protecting and guiding them through life’s ups and downs.

Adela’s legacy is etched in the small, daily acts of love and resilience that defined her every day. She filled her home with comfort and solutions in times of worry, and her example taught her children and those close to her how to face life’s uncertainties with perseverance and grace.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Adela's life on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.

Her presence will be dearly missed, yet her love and spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
